The fall is also hopefully shaping up to be a season to celebrate.  The passing Federal pain legislation.  The National Pain Care Police Act of 2008 (SS387) has been introduced in the Senate.  With its partner bill in the House of Representative (HR2994).  The National Pain Care Policy Act addresses the barriers to proper treatment by improving coordination of pain research, health care practitioner education and training, and public awareness.

On July 30, The House of Representatives approved the Veterans Health Care Policy Enhancement Act of 2008.  This bill will now be reconciled with the Senate-passed measure.  We hope to have a final bill passed by both house of Congress and signed by the President before Congress adjourns in the fall.
